The Hawai‘i Conservation Alliance Foundation, in partnership with the Hau‘oli Mau Loa Foundation, is pleased to announce a special rate for 125 students to attend the Hawai‘i Conservation Conference, July 31-August 2, 2012 at the Hawai‘i Convention Center.

Availability

75 O‘ahu-based students, AND 50 neighboring island-based students with $200 travel reimbursement*

Eligibility

Seniors enrolled in a Hawai‘i High School (class of ’12 or ’13)OR

Graduates of Hawai‘i High School

Application Requirements

  1. You will need to submit a copy of your current high-school ID or proof of graduation from Hawaii High School (i.e. diploma or transcripts)
  2. A letter of recommendation (form provided in the sidebar to the top right of this page) from your supervisor, mentor, adviser that describes your passion, capacity, and dedication to entering the natural resource conservation field

OR

A personal essay that demonstrates your interest, experiences, and investment in the field of conservation and what you aim to contribute to this field (in 250 words or less).

*Neighboring Island Applicants are eligible for up to $200 for travel reimbursement to be distributed in person on the last day of the conference. Once you have received your registration code for the conference from HCA staff and have registered for the conference, please book your travel. Along with your registration code, you will be send a link to request your reimbursement. You will be required to upload a copy of your airline itinerary that shows the cost of your ticket. All reimbursement requests must be received by July 15. You will be able to claim your reimbursement check at the Conference Registration Desk by showing your ID.
