Aloha! Thank you for submitting abstracts to the 25th Annual Hawaiʻi Conservation Conference. By now you should have received an email from the Oxford Abstract System stating whether or not your abstract has been accepted. Please note that every year we receive almost twice as much content as we are able to accept and the decisions are always very difficult. Despite the status of your abstract, we encourage all authors to consider submitting presentations in future years. If you have not yet received a notification email, please contact the Abstract Coordinator: Miki Tomita

Next Steps

– After receiving the initial email from the Oxford Abstract System, we encourage all authors to review comments submitted by the Abstract Committee and reviewers. Comments from the Abstract Committee will be found in the body of the email.

– You will receive a second email, from the Abstract Coordinator, containing the comments from the abstract reviewers assigned to your abstract. For reference when viewing the comments, abstract reviewers assessed your abstract based on the:

  • Call for Proposal
  • Evaluation Criteria & Submission Instructions
    • *In the Content Guidelines section of your reviews, the following letters correspond with these particular comments on the content*:
      • A = Quality of Project and Abstract
      • B = Relevance to Conservation
      • C = Original Work
      • D = Relevance to 2018 Theme
      • E = Agenda
      • F = Audience Participation

– Authors of accepted abstracts, will have the opportunity to revise their abstract in accordance to the instructions and comments given by the Abstract Committee and reviewers. Please log into the Oxford Abstract System to revise your abstract.

– Please double check the abstract text, title, author information, and presenter information to ensure it is correct and complies with provided guidelines. Please note that this step is critical because the information submitted to Oxford Abstract System will be published in the Conference Program Book and Abstract Book.

All abstract revisions are due by May 25

Presenters must register for Conference by June 1st

– In the coming weeks we will post information and guidelines for presenters in regards to oral/poster/symposia/workshops/forums/moderators/speakers/room monitors. We will send out an email notification when it is posted, but please also check back on this webpage for updated information.

If you have questions or concerns about your abstract, please contact the Abstract Coordinator: Miki Tomita
