Dining Services

The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Dining Services is delighted to provide food service options for all Hawaii Conservation Conference participants attending the meeting. Taking pride in our Local First Initiative, we serve locally grown produce as well as island raised grass-fed beef and fresh caught fish. On a daily basis, we serve as much as 60% locally grown or produced food or beverages. For your convenience our dining program has flexibility, varied hours, and a choice of dining locations. Please refer to our dining schedule when planning your meals.

Hale Kehau Dining – Offers buffet Style “All-You-Care-to-Eat” meals. Food Stations include fresh fruit and salad bars, hot home-style entrees, grill selections, baked pizzas, homemade soups, deli station, dessert station, and assorted fountain beverage station.

Lunch: 11:30am – 1:30pm 

Campus Center Dining Room – Offers beverages, snacks, grab ‘n go items, grill, and hot line. Participants will pay for the items they select only.

7:00am – 3:45pm

Deja Brew Coffee Cart – Offers Starbucks Coffee, beverages, snacks, and grab ‘n go items

7:00am – 3:45pm (Tuesday & Wednesday)

7:00am to 11:00am (Thursday)

UH Athletics and STB Concession Stand – Offers beverages, snacks, grab ‘n go items

9:00am – 3:30pm (Tuesday & Wednesday)

9:00am – 11am (Thursday)

Meal Plans Offered:

Plan A: Depending on your selections, this will cover (but not limited to) 5 Breaks and 2 Lunches for $60

Plan B: Depending on your selections, this will cover (but not limited to) 5 Breaks, 3 Breakfasts, and 2 Lunches for $85

 

*NOTE:  Please make every effort to expend your full plan. Any money remaining at the end of the conference is non-transferable and non-refundable. We thank you for your understanding.

 

Other Food Options

There are no food vending machines on campus or at the dorms. There is an open kitchen at the dorms with a microwave, refrigerator and two ranges with ovens. It is noted that the kitchen is not equipped with cooking or eating utensils, dishes, or pots & pans. Clean up is the responsibility of the person using the kitchen. 
There is a 7-11 store within walking distance of the dorms and several food outlets that will deliver foo. Express Waiters delivers from over 18 restaurants in the Hilo area. Please order through their web site at www.expresswaiters-onlineorders.com

 

Transportation

Parking is open and free at the time of the Conference.

Shuttle service is being provided Tuesday, August 4th for the Evening to Down Town Hilo from the UH Hilo Campus and back.

Cancellation and Refund Policy: Written cancellations will be accepted until June 30, 2015, 5:00 PM (Hawaii Standard Time). A cancellation fee of $35 per person will be charged.

No refunds will be granted after the deadline.
