My Hawai‘i Story Project 2012

The Hawai‘i Conservation Alliance Foundation, Hawai‘i Conservation Alliance, and Pacific Writers' Connection announced the names of 26 students who were selected to be published in the 2012 My Hawai‘i Story Project Anthology. Students in grades six through eight across the state were invited to submit a creative work -- including stories, poems, artwork, or songs -- that expressed their perspective on why conserving Hawaii’s environment was important to them.

In 2012, its sixth year, the My Hawai'i Project received 300 creative contest entries from students in nine different schools. The 26 winning entries were compiled into an anthology that was distributed to all middle schools and public libraries in the state.

The students whose works were selected for publication were invited to attend an Awards Ceremony at the Hawai‘i Conservation Conference on August 1, 2012, where they were presented with certificates of achievement and special prizes.
