Hawaiʻi Conservation Alliance Objectives

  1. Hawaiʻi has consistent opportunities for rich exchange of knowledge and practice, cutting edge science, and networking to improve and grow stewardship of biocultural resources.
  2. Hawaiʻi’s emerging professionals have greater access, awareness, and passion for ʻāina-based career opportunities that develop technical and learned skills, empowering them to become conservation leaders in Hawaiʻi.

In 2013, the Hawaiʻi Conservation Alliance (Alliance) and Hawaiʻi Conservation Alliance Foundation (HCAF) built Conservation Connections to provide Hawaiʻi with a one-stop shop for individuals and groups to connect with environmental stewardship organizations across the Hawaiian Islands that protect Hawaiʻi’s terrestrial, aquatic, and cultural resources.

Over 200 programs and organizations post their available opportunities in real-time to recruit local capacity to help protect Hawaiʻi’s precious natural resources. We encourage all environmental stewardship organizations and programs in Hawaiʻi to register with Conservation Connections to share their opportunities with the public. On Conservation Connections, there are opportunities for everyone to get involved, from family friendly events to more rugged adventures!

Conservation Connections provides opportunities for people to volunteer and learn more about conservation and provides access to jobs and internships for those looking for a mālama ʻāina (conservation) career.

Conservation Connections receives over 25,000 visitors per year demonstrating local community desire to connect with nature and mālama ʻāina (to care for the land). Join the movement and connect to nature through Conservation Connections today!
