Field Trips
Thanks to the Hawai‘i Environmental Education Alliance for helping to arrange the following field excursions August 3-5. 2012:
Bygone Days of Makiki ValleyDate: Friday, August 3, 2012 Join us as we discover the fascinating story of this often overlooked valley, tucked away in the mountains, just minutes from Waikiki. We’ll take a leisurely short hike back into the valley and discover Hawaiian sites, remnants of a 150 year-old farmstead, and a variety of tropical plants. Also learn about the hands-on environmental education for children and families being offered by the Hawai‘i Nature Center. Special instructions: Wear comfortable shoes, dress to get dirty and bring water and insect repellent. Reservations required. Contact Pauline Kawamata at 955-0100 ext. 118 or volunteer@hawaiinaturecenter.org |
Without Walls Workshop: All Natural ParentingSaturday, August 4, 2012 Come and learn alongside other conscious (and busy!) mommies and daddies who want the best for their babies. In this workshop we will be introduced to how to incorporate all-natural concepts into family life with the goal to make this learning as simple and easy-to-integrate as possible. We will be covering topics such as using cloth diapers, making own baby food and even making your own baby wipes. You’re going to love doing it! An all-natural parenting approach can be great for growing families and the planet. Registration is required.
