2025 HCC - E A’e A Ulu

https://maps.app.goo.gl/1dpHWszupTZ7q1R59

The Hawaiʻi Conservation Conference brings together a diverse group of scientists, policymakers, conservation practitioners, educators, students and community members from Hawaiʻi and the Pacific. It’s a time to connect, share and inspire, all with the common goal of caring for our natural resources.

E A’E A ULU - Restore & Regenerate

When we seek to restore ecosystems and species integrity, whether replanting forest or coral reef, one sign of success comes when our initial efforts lead to natural regeneration and growth without our intervention. Our actions to conserve and restore native ecosystems and the unique biocultural diversity of our islands enable the restoration of ecosystem functions and viable habitats for the native plants and animals that are the foundation of our identity and wellbeing.

Our 2025 HCC theme echoes a chant to Hiʻiaka, the gentle younger sister of Pele, a goddess of restoration embodied by the greening of new lava flows after the fiery actions of Pele. ʻO Hiʻiaka kā ke kāula, Nāna i hele a aʻe a ulu- Hiʻiaka is indeed the seer, wherever she goes things sprout and grow. This natural edict of regeneration, he Kīhoʻihoʻi Kānāwai, reminds us that when given the opportunity, land, ocean, and people can return to health. Our actions from mountaintop to ocean depths, from agencies to local communities, from researchers to natural resource managers to educators and policy-makers, from the individual to the collective, all contribute to strengthening the life of our lands and seas, and our relationship with our places and each other. E aʻe a ulu pū — Let us restore and regenerate together! When ʻāina is restored, we are all restored.

Mahalo to our 2025 Hawaiʻi Conservation Conference Sponsors

An Invitation to sponsor opportunities at 2025 Hawaiʻi Conservation Conference

The Hawaiʻi Conservation Alliance Foundation is excited to offer multiple sponsorship opportunities for the 2025 Hawaiʻi Conservation Conference. The conference is attended by over 1,400 conservation professionals from across the Hawaiian archipelago and beyond, it features cutting edge research, as well as innovative tools and approaches for addressing critical island conservation needs.

Sponsors receive recognition on the conference website and in plenary session remarks, two conference registrations, and an exhibitor booth. We are ready to work with potential sponsors to design sponsorship and recognition that best fits our shared goals and needs. Please get in touch with us at conference@hawaiiconservation.org if you wish to be a sponsor.

$40,000: EXHIBIT AND POSTER HALL

Tuesday July 22 – Thursday July 24, 2025 at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center: This is sponsorship of the Exhibit and Poster Hall throughout the full length of the Conference. This hub of the Conference will host up to 68 exhibitors and 100 poster presenters with daily coffee and tea service. The Hall is open to all attendees as well as the general public (during certain times). Sponsor recognition will include branding of the space, prominent entrance exhibit space, and all recognition options mentioned above.

$30,000: CLOSING RECEPTION

Thursday July 24, 2025 at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center: This reception will celebrate 32 years of the Hawaiʻi Conservation Conference while focusing on the critical work yet to be done. This Conference brings together students, researchers, managers, and community leaders to advance mālama ʻāina in Hawaiʻi. The closing reception will emphasize the value of conservation work for our human and ecological communities, celebrate those who do the work, and encourage continued and increased commitment. It will include pupu and a no-host bar, live music, and presentation of student awards.

$25,000: POSTER RECEPTION

Wednesday July 23, 2025 at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center: After successfully hosting paper posters the last two years, we will continue to host paper posters rather than electronic posters to encourage increased interactions between conference attendees. Survey responses from past Conferences indicate that our audience puts high value on opportunities to interact with presenters and other attendees. A poster reception, including pupu and a no-host bar, is an effective and fun way to encourage exchanges between our conservation community.

$15,000: ON-SITE CHILDCARE FOR NEIGHBOR-ISLAND ATTENDEES

Tuesday July 22 – Thursday July 24, 2025 at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center: Professional travel can be especially challenging for those with young children who must find childcare outside of their typical work schedule. Last year we had a pilot of this sponsorship opportunity & we had great feedback with tremendous gratitude around this opportunity for people even from those without children. On-site childcare will allow for those individuals who may not attend because of their family responsibilities to participate in this meaningful professional development opportunity.

$5,000 – $10,000: CONFERENCE GATHERING SPACE (1 Opportunity)

Tuesday July 22 – Thursday July 24, 2025 at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center: Networking is a critical function of the Hawaiʻi Conservation Conference, especially for students and emerging professionals. A gathering space will allow for informal and unplanned meetings and discussions among conference attendees. This room will have a mix of large (10 pax) and small (4 pax) round top tables as well as lauhala mats for gathering on the floor.

$5,000 – $10,000: NETWORKING BREAKS (8 Opportunities)

Tuesday July 22, Wednesday July 23, Thursday July 24, 2025 at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center: Networking breaks provide refreshments (e.g. coffee, tea, light snacks) for these target groups in the morning and during scheduled breaks in the Conference agenda with the intention to bring together aspiring and established leaders. Participants will be encouraged to bring virtual or paper business cards and to organize themselves by track.

$5,000 – $10,000: SESSION RECORDING (24 Opportunities)

Tuesday July 22, Wednesday July 23, Thursday July 24, 2025 at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center: From 2020-2022, the HCC pivoted to a virtual format in response to the pandemic. While we are very excited to be able to gather in-person once again, one of the benefits of the virtual Conference was our ability to preserve video recordings of the presentations. The Alliance steering committee regularly identifies content that may be of particular interest to a public audience and, with support, we can record and make freely available selected Conference sessions.
