BigMarker Practice Rooms
We will have three practice rooms available for you to test out the platform. One will have a breakout room function enabled for forums/workshops who are utilizing breakout rooms and the other rooms will be used as a general presenter room. The rooms will be open on July 16th, July 19-23, and July 26th from 8am-5pm for all presenters and moderators to use. Your official session room will be open three hours before your session begins if you would like to spend more time practicing in the room during the conference.
If there is another group using the room, please exit the room and try a different one, or try to access the room again later.
Please note, due to limited staff capacity HCA/F staff will only be present in the room on Friday, July 16th from 10-11am and on Tuesday, July 20th from 1-2pm. If you have questions about the functions of the platform, please refer to the presenter guidelines documents first before emailing conference@hawaiiconservation.org your questions.
Moderator Guidelines
Thanks for volunteering to help serve as a moderator for the 2021 Hawaiʻi Conservation Conference!
Your main job as moderator would be to:
- Reach out to the presenter in your session (we will email all the general session presenters/moderators so you have each others email addresses) and request copies of their presentation if they havenʻt pre-recorded their presentation
- In the event that a presenters internet crashes, moderators can advance the slides for the presenter and serve as a digital backup for their slides, and the presenters can call in.
- Introduce the speakers (title and name, presenters will introduce themselves in more depth if interested)
- Keep the session going on-time
- Moderate the Q&A and any discussions that may come up
- Review the BigMarker Onboarding Session recorded and embedded as a Vimeo Video at the top of the page to familiarize yourself with the platform and functions and complete your system check using https://www.bigmarker.
