Monday, 8/31 Practice Rooms Now Available until 5pm
We have four practice rooms available for you to test out the platform. One has a breakout room function enabled for forums/workshops who are utilizing breakout rooms and the other room is a general presenter room. The rooms are open today until 5pm for all presenters and moderators to use. Your official session room will be open three hours before your session begins if you would like to spend more time practicing in the room during the conference.

If there is another group using the room, please exit the room and try a different one, or try to access the room again later.
Please note, due to limited staff capacity no HCA/F or BigMarker staff will be present in the room. If you have questions about the functions of the platform please refer to the presenter/moderator guidelines documents first before emailing conference@ hawaiiconservation.org your questions.
Next Steps
Congratulations on being selected as a presenter at the 2020 Hawaiʻi Conservation Conference: Ola Ka ʻĀina Momona: Managing for Abundance! Our conference platform is BigMarker (https://www.bigmarker.com/s/ HIconcon2020/home), a web-based application that will be hosting all the conference content and presentations.
All Authors Must:
- Register for the Conference by August 15th
- Early bird deadline for the conference
- Review the Presenter Onboarding Video Instructions (Information on Q&A, Polls, Handouts, etc.)
- Either Pre-record your talk or attend a 15 minute presenter onboarding session.

If You Are Not Pre-Recording Your Session And Are Presenting Live:
- You must attend a Presenter Onboarding Session with BigMarker Conference Support Staff on either these two dates. You can attend at any time, it will only take about 10-15 minutes to complete.

- For an optimal presenter experience on the platform, make sure you are using an updated version of Chrome or Firefox (Safari, Edge, and Internet Explorer do not perform as well, if you need to use these browsers, please make sure you are using the most updated version)
- Monitor your email and you will receive an email from BigMarker with your presenter link to your scheduled session
- On the day of you presentation you can either:
- Upload your slides as a pdf into the BigMarker session link you were emailed. You can upload you slides three hours before your presentation is scheduled to begin.
- Screen share your presentation. This requires a strong reliable internet connection (Minimum: download speeds: 20mbps/upload speeds: 5mbps)

- Three hours prior to your session going live, your presenter link will be active and you can start populating your polls, videos, handouts etc.
How to Pre-Record Your Presentation
- Record your presentation using a system you are familiar with and have access to (Zoom, GoToMeeting, Webex etc.) for your allocated time and email them to conference@hawaiiconservation.org by Wednesday, August 19th so we have time to test out your recording and upload it to our conference platform

hawaiiconservation.org to set up a date/time to record using the BigMarker software

- Video files must be sent to us as a mp4 format and less then 4gb of space
Social Media Feature
If you are interested in featuring your presentation on our social media pages, please email us a headshot (PNG or JPG, 200x200px), a short sentence describing your presentation, and any social media handles you would like us to tag.
How to Get Technical Support
If you need technical or general conference support contact us at conference@ hawaiiconservation.org. Please allow for 24 – 48 hours to receive a response. We are using this email to ensure that you receive timely support as our staff work on multiple projects.

After receiving the initial email from the Atanto Abstract System, we encourage all accepted authors to review comments submitted by the Abstract Committee and reviewers. Comments from the Abstract Committee will be found at the end of the email. Please review our updated evaluation guidelines for our virtual conference here: 6.22.2020 Revised Evaluation Criteria
Additional Notes:
- Guidelines for presentations will be provided shortly via email and the conference website (https://www.hawaiiconservation.org/conference). The final conference schedule will also be posted when available.
- All presenters must be registered by August 15th, 2020. This includes all invited panelists, speakers, and facilitators for all presentation formats. Presentations may be removed from the conference schedule if the presenter does not register.
- For student presenters eligible for Student Awards, you will receive an email from capacity@hawaiiconservation.org to confirm your participation
Abstract Revision Guidelines:
- Authors of accepted abstracts, will have the opportunity to revise their abstract in accordance to the instructions and comments given by the Abstract Committee and reviewers. Please log into the Atanto Abstract System to revise your abstract.
- If you are having trouble accessing the abstract system, please try using a different browser and opening the site in incognito mode.
- Please double check the abstract text, title, author information, and presenter information to ensure it is correct and complies with provided guidelines. Please note that this step is critical because the information submitted to Atanto Abstract System will be published in the digital Conference Program Book and Abstract Book.
*All abstract revisions are due by July 13th, 2020
*Presenters must register for Conference by August 15th, 2020
